March 2007

We're ready for the off (well nearly)!

All is going very much to plan, with just a few minor set backs - one being a serious case of "man flu", that set me back on doing things like this and cooking, but fortunately, not riding.

We have been out show jumping en masse, to Keysoe, Arena UK and Markfield and the horses are several hundred pounds better off, especially Hex, who seems to win everything.

I have also been working very hard on the flat with Judy Bradwell and I'm even doing a dressage test next week!

I have had horses coming and going all winter. From Monday, all the team will be in place, with all schooling liveries back to their rightful owners. Also we have a quite sudden new recruit in Maybe Cavalier ("Albert") who looks to be an exciting prospect, However (unfortunately) I do think he will be on the market after the spring season.

Classic Diamond Charm will, luckily, be staying for all the spring season, However, he has sustained a minor field injury which means he has to start his spring campaign a couple of weeks later.

French Touch has also returned home for a break. He is so big that he needs a little time to fill out, so he will come back straight after Badminton ready to start his career.

Talking of Badminton.. that's my next job. I've just downloaded 24 pages of schedule and entry forms, so that will keep me busy for the next week!
